Damien enjoys all aspects of dentistry but particularly likes working with families and children to prevent problems and maintain healthy teeth for life. We have been very lucky to have found a dentist with such a gentle and caring personality.

Being involved in his profession important to Damien and he is a member of the Australian Dental Association and sits on the Queensland branch’s continuing professional development committee. He also regularly attends conferences and continuing professional development.

team_Emma_Bowtell-Life-DentalEmma Bowtell

Emma Bowtell was welcomed to the team in 2016 as our friendly, caring Oral Health Therapist. Emma initially began her career working as a dental assistant, working across general dentistry, endodontic and periodontal practices. During this time she discovered her love for dentistry and went on to complete her Bachelor of Oral Health through the University of Queensland.

After receiving her qualifications she returned to periodontal practice as a hygienist where she assisted, before joining our practice as an Oral Health Therapist in March 2016. In her role she is passionate about giving patients pleasant and comfortable dental experiences.

Having worked in a specialist periodontal practice, Emma has a keen interest in treating and maintaining gum disease. She also enjoys treating children and helping them through their dental appointments that can often seem daunting.

Emma’s dual qualifications as a dental hygienist and dental therapist means she is able to perform: x-rays, gentle & thorough cleans for patients of all ages, fluoride applications, and routine dentistry on children aged 0-17 (including exams, scale & cleans, preventive fissure sealants, fillings, and removal of baby teeth).

Outside of work, Emma is a foodie! Either cooking at home, or out and about finding her new favourite restaurant.
