Life Dental - tooth whitening

Nothing can lift your smile or appearance like having fresh white teeth, which is why the most popular dental procedure of recent years has been teeth whitening treatments. At Life Dental, we can provide you with at home or in-surgery whitening so you can achieve the captivating smile you have always wanted.

The highly successful and very popular in-chair whitening system can lighten your smile by as much as 8 shades in a single one-hour appointment using a formulated whitening gel, activated by a specially developed light. This leading-edge technology delivers amazing results to enhance your best feature quickly and safely.  A bright new smile will elevate your self-confidence socially and professionally.

Although in-surgery whitening is popular, some life dental patients prefer the privacy and comfort of home for their whitening treatment. Thin custom fitted trays are made on moulds of your upper and lower teeth. These trays are then loaded with whitening gel and worn over the teeth at home. This system allows for maximum contact of the whitening gel to the tooth surface while still protecting your gums. You will be given instructions on the correct use of your trays and gel so that you achieve maximum results. You can achieve the same results at home as can be obtained with in-surgery whitening. The process will take up to two weeks however as the gels used are much less concentrated.

Teeth whitening treatments have undergone extensive testing to ensure they are completely safe to use. The only effect some patients experience is slight sensitivity to hot and cold, however this will often subside several hours after completing your treatment. If you experience sensitivity while using your at home treatment you should cease application for a few days. If symptoms continue, please do not hesitate to contact life dental for advice.

Depending on the colour of your teeth and the shade you wish to accomplish, results will vary from person to person. The longevity of your treatment will depend on your lifestyle and food choices. Smoking and strongly dyed foods discolour your teeth much more quickly; however results often last for more than two years.
